HEART OF WINTER TOUR A SUCCESS

Fifty-three of us arrived at the Attic Window Quilt Shop before dawn this past Saturday to participate in the Heart of Winter Bus Tour.
At 8 a.m. we got on the bus and ...
were on our way to our first stop, which was...
 Quilted Memories in Montague.
There was so much to see at this delightful shop, but when I noticed a gathering of women at the back of the store, I rushed over to see what was up.  Not only were they getting a demo, but they were each supplied with fabric to fold along with the demonstrator.
Everyone made these folded hexagons.  They could also purchase a book with patterns for all the unique ideas you could do with these folded hexagons.
This is the Quilted Memories postage stamp.  Kits were available for purchase.

The next stop on our tour was Portand.  Some of you might remember this shop under a different name.  It is now Mo's Needle & Thread.  Above is their postage stamp quilt available for purchase in kits.  This is still the same  delightful shop and now they carry needle point projects also.   This shop provided a delicious lunch for us!
Next we stopped at Friend's Quilting Basket in Lake Odessa.  It is a cute shop and they provided snacks and beverages for us.  The shop is located right down town.  While we shopped for fabric, Sue, our bus driver, found some interesting shops nearby.
This is the postage stamp kit that tour members could purchase at Friends Quilting Basket
And here we are back at the Attic Window Quilt Shop just in time for the scrumptious dinner that Chris, shop owner, provided for us.
Above is the postage stamp kit that was given to those on the Attic Window Quilt Shop bus. So cute!  Those who purchased kits from the other three shops were also given a free bottle of Best Press.

It was a fun day.  I don't know about anyone else, but I was exhausted.  I'm not sure if it was from fighting temptation, making decisions as to what to and what not to buy, or spending all that money but something made me dog-tired.  I'm just thankful I don't have a husband to account to. Of course, hiding fabric from my kids is another thing.

A special thanks for the shops that put on this enjoyable tour for us.  I know it was a lot of work and I'm sure appreciated by all.
