IS THIS YOUR FIRST KISS?

Vicky (left) and Robin (right) attended the evening group of the Quilt Block Cookbook BOM at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  This block's name is First Kiss.  It looks like their blocks turned out perfect! They must be old pros at First Kiss. (wink, wink)
Marjorie, who lives in Utah and follows along with us, sent a picture of her block.  Love those fabrics.

Everyone should like the block we have chosen for next month. It is recipe 32 of the Quilt Block Cookbook.  Even when the block turns out larger than the 12.5" it is supposed to be you can cut it down without losing any points.  Enjoy!

DID YOU MISS THE TEA PARTY?

Did you miss the Tea Party recently held at the Attic Window Quilt Shop?  Last Wednesday, while at the shop, Chris was kind enough to show us the trunk show that she held during the Tea Party.
Above, Chris shows us a table runner.
And here is another table runner.
How about this adorable pot holder. Marilyn made this.
And these Citrus pot holders.  Vickie S. made these.
What little girl wouldn't love this purse.
Cathy made this pillow.
 Lee Anne made this bag.
This pattern was in two sizes.  The larger one would be great for holding sewing supplies.  The smaller one makes a perfect wallet.
I made this quick and easy table runner.
All the above items came from this book above: Simple, Fun  Quickly Done.  It includes 18 projects.
Marilyn made this fantastic wall hanging/table topper.
The pattern can be found in this book.

Marilyn also made these two Tea Pot quilts.  The first one is all embroidery.  I intended to get close up of the blocks but forgot.  They were stunning quilts.

A special thanks to Chris for taking the time to show us these fun projects.

HAVE YOU TRIED MACHINE APPLIQUE?

A new Machine Applique Scrappers group met Saturday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Above, Lee Anne shows us the two blocks that she worked on.
Eva, Lee Anne's granddaughter, joined in the fun.

The women brought blocks that they had made earlier.  By earlier, I mean earlier last year or several years ago.  I believe the above blocks were part of a BOM at the AW a few years ago.
Above, is Yvonne's block that she was working on.
You can better see the applique block above.  This is Lee Anne's block all finished.  How adorable.
Nancy was working on machine appliqueing her Rose of Sharon blocks that she made several years ago during a class at the AW.

Chris had a number of blocks to show the group and she was there to help if needed.  If you don't have an applique project to work on, kits for some of the above blocks are still available for purchase.  Don't you love that fifties block with the poodle skirt?  How about that sixties block with the bell bottoms?

If you missed this first session, you can attend the Thursday evening session on March 30th. Just call the shop to register.

Also, plan ahead.  Another Machine Applique Scrappers meeting will be held in April on the last Saturday of the month.  Mark your calendar now!

IT'S BOM TIME!

The Quilt Block Cookbook BOM met Wednesday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Above the women show us the blocks they made for this month.
This month we will be making Recipe 32 in the Quilt Block Cookbook by Amy Gibson.

I want to caution anyone using this book.  There are numerous errors in the first printing.  I'm not good at piecing and take classes like this to improve my skills, however, that is hard to do when the directions are wrong.  If anyone tries to make Recipe 36 and can get the points on the flying geese I'd like to know how you did that.  I took that block apart three times, measured and remeasured, and could not get the points on the flying geese.  Cathy couldn't either, so it's not just me.  Amy did send out an email telling everyone of some corrections in her book, however, there was no mention of anything in this block that needed changing. I'm particularly feeling terrible because I got 25 people to buy this book and join our group.  I know a lot of you are frustrated, but please don't give up.  Cathy and I will continue to test each block, make the changes necessary and get the information to you.  If you are sewing along with us and are making Recipe 32 pictured above, write me a note and I'll tell you the adjustments we had to make to this block.

On another note, Cathy (left) did show us this quilt that she made.  A year or so ago she made these blocks from Amy Gibson's on line BOM.  She used the QAYG method to put it together.
The back looks as pretty as the front.  Great job Cathy!

QUEEN AT ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

Cathy M. was the queen bee this month at the Bees In The Attic Bee Hive at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  She didn't want to wear the crown or cape.
She gave each of us kits which included all our fabrics.  All we had to do was put the blocks together.
We spread the cape on the floor and placed our blocks on it so we could all see what the quilt is going to look like.  I can't wait to see this quilt all put together.  I love these fabrics, which Cathy purchased from the shop.
Mary is the queen bee next month and has distributed kits for us to make these blocks.  What a fun group this is!!

We also had show-n-tell.  Above, Peggy shows us her finished quilt.  The month that she was Queen Bee, she distributed these fabrics and asked us to make blocks for her.
This is another view.  What a stunning quilt!  Not only is it a fun group, but a creative group of women able to visualize what their quilt will look like in the fabrics they choose.

A LITTLE THIS AND THAT

I've been a little out of commission lately and some kind quilters have sent me pictures that I want to share with you.  I may not get who did what correct, so please excuse any mistakes on my part.  Above, Pauline W. shows us her quilt.  Love this patriotic quilt!
Above is Sue C.'s quilt that she made when participating in the Farm Girl BOM at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.
Above, Sue shows us her blocks that will go on the back of her Farm Girl quilt.
You may have seen this before.  I think it is hanging at the Attic Window Quilt Shop displaying the blocks that were made during the Farm Girl BOM.  I'm not sure who made it.
Marilyn shows us the last block for the Farm Girls BOM, the birthday cake.  When Cathy sent me these pictures she said, "For the occasion, Sue brought a chocolate cake with strawberry butter cream frosting for the group.  Marilyn brought fresh fruit which is always appreciated and loved."

I'm so sorry, but I did not get the information who made this adorable quilt.  I'm sure it was one of the participants in the Farm Girls BOM.
Misti sent me this picture of her new toy!  I love it.  It reminds me of the sewing machine I learned to sew on.
Yvonne sent me the above picture. This is what she said, "I'm so sorry I forgot to send this to you.  While I was at the Attic Window Quilt Shop for a UFO group meeting a couple of weeks ago, a lady showed us her quilt that she had just gotten back from the quilter.  I'm sorry but I did not get her name." No problem.  We still love seeing it.

A special thank you to Cathy, Misti, and Yvonne for sending the pictures!  I love them all.
